Pain

Inevitable, pain is.
Charmed to be like a poison
Seeping into the very veins of its prey
Pulling bits of certainty into a looming, desperate race of life.
And so it seems;

Good, pain is,
And so they say;
It keeps a measurable sense of sanity into you
Keeping your roots firm into the ground
While your arms outstretched to the sky.

Bittersweet, pain is.
It licks a fiery tongue in to your loins
Yet alluring you to a sense of satisfaction
Deep, hot, ecstatic euphoria
With a twinge of guilt, in every stab.
